It’s going to be an interesting night at the Oscars with some outstanding movies and great performances looking to capture Hollywood’s biggest prize. The Best Actor award should come down to three men. Bradley (no last name required), Michael Keaton and Eddie Redmayne. All three performances were outstanding and powerful. Bradley’s role as American Sniper Chris Kyle was riveting in depicting the horrors of today’s battlefield and the effect it has back home on the returning soldier and his family. His third year in a row that he can win the award. Michael’s portrayal of The Birdman was dark, but brilliantly acted and supported by a very strong cast. Clearly his most dynamic role to date. And Eddie’s performance as Stephen Hawking was probably the most challenging and difficult of the three. Although a relative unknown to the American public, this performance will never be forgotten.
Here are the JPMsportsertainment picks:
Best Picture: The Imitation Game
Best Actor: Bradley Cooper
Best Actress: Felicity Jones
Best Supporting Actor: Edward Norton
Best Supporting Actress: Keira Knightley
Okay, I will admit that going 0-5 on the picks is not good, but this was a loaded field and all the winners were deserving.
