James Harden thought he could hold the Houston Rockets hostage by sitting out and abandoning his teammates until he was traded to a team that could finally get him an NBA Championship. And he won the standoff with Houston and was dealt to the one team he believed could get him the ring, The Brooklyn Nets. Well, how did that work out for you Mr. Harden? You thought you could ride Keven Durant’s coat tails and just show up and get that ring. Well, its not that easy, as you have found out. You actually have to show up and contribute to the “team” concept to win a title. You failed to do so. And now you have been shipped out to a team that will not win you that title. Good luck in Philadelphia because now you have proven to the basketball world that you are a teammate nobody will want to play with. And with that goes your legacy as one of the all-time great players of your era. You could learn a lesson from Giannis and do what it takes to win without having the spotlight directly on you, and only you. Sure , you can be a great player, but you have to be willing to make sacrifices for the good of the team. You failed to do so. Giannis is a top tier player surrounded by second tier players and that is a concept the whole team embraced and it resulted in the championship that you will never get. Yes, you have the best beard ever in the NBA, but you will never have a championship to go with it. Talent can only get you so far in a team sport. You will forever be known as one of the best shooters of all time, but you shot yorself in the foot this time. And with that, you will forever be known as a selfish player with a lot of talent but no championship ring. I hope you remember your actions when watching team after team hoist the NBA championship trophy that you will never get to experience. Enjoy the view!
