Four NBA Championships in eight years is pretty damn good, but worthy of the title “Dynasty?” Well, with Kevin Durant part of two of them, and the Warriors having just won their 4th and second without him, I think its safe to say the Curry, Thompson and Green trio have established themselves at least in the conversation. But the Bill Russell-lead Celtics teams winning 11 titles in 13 years is what should be referred to as a dynasty. Not taking anything away from the Curry Warriors, the Jordan Bulls, the Duncan Spurs and the Magic/Kobe Lakers, but none of them can even be compared to what the Celtics accomplished during the Russell years. Not even a close second, but they have all established themselves as NBA legends in their own right. And Curry has done it with a different roster each time aside from fixtures Thompson and Green. That is worth noting because those two guys wouldn’t have any rings without Curry. Just as valuable to them as Bill Russell was to the Celtics during their amazing run. He will always go down as the best pure shooter in NBA history, and with four championships, his legacy is more than secure with this fourth title. With competitive parity at an all-time high in the NBA, it will be a steep mountain to climb to win a fifth title going forward for Curry. But it is not completely out of the question. Also need to give Steve Kerr some credit for keeping this team in the conversation after finishing with worst record in the league just three years ago. He certainly knows what it takes to win as he won several as a player himself. The combination of a great coach like Kerr and a great player like Steph makes achieving the moniker of “Dynasty” still reachable. Congrats to Curry and Company for winning the title again. But still a long way from a Celtic-green dynasty.
