The UConn Huskies are again champions of the college basketball world!!!!! They have had teams in the past who were expected to win it all, but not these guys. And yet they did. Clearly Shabazz Napier carried this team on his back. The way Ray Allen did in the past for the Huskies and Kemba Walker did as well. This was an improbable run and they beat outstanding teams to [...]
Wisconsin vs. Kentucky and Florida vs. UConn. And then there were four……… Each one of these teams has a legitimate chance to bring home the title on Monday in Arlington, TX. None of these teams would be considered “Cinderella” as they are all very talented and with the exception of Wisconsin, have been here before. But on paper, still going to stay with Florida prevailing as they face Kentucky Monday night to win [...]
Down to the Sweet Sixteen for the NCAA tournament starting tonight!!!!!! Doesn’t get any better than this in college athletics. Game after game of exciting basketball by kids playing for the glory of a national championship. And to showcase their talents for the chance to get to the next level and make millions. Most of the favorties are right where they should be, but how could you not root for [...]
Sid the Kid has lead the Canadian Olympic team to a second consecutive gold medal. A disappointment for the Americans, but simply put the Canadians were a better team. They needed a leader like Crosby to get them to the top. Give this young man credit as he has proven he comes up big. Especially after sustaining a severe concussion. He has nothing left to prove. Congrats Sidney!!!!!
On February 17, 2014 at 8:38am, Logan James Miller entered the world!!!!!!!! Normally I don’t post birth announcements, but this has special meaning, as this is my first grandchild! And first child of proud parents Chris and Nikki (my son-in-law and daughter). You guys did great and will be wonderful parents. Thank you for the precious gift! If becoming a grandparent is supposed to signify “getting older”, so be it. Hey, let the old [...]
A fan has asked me to list a few of the movies that are considered a “must-see” from a JPMsportsertainment.com perspective.. A few means Top 20-something. Aside from the number one movie(s) of all-time (Godfather I and II), the list is just that, a list. All-time The Godfather I and II The Deer Hunter Gone With the Wind The Public Enemy Angels With Dirty Faces Animal House The Best Years of [...]
Wow, this was a surprise for all football fans, as there was a beat-down in the Meadowlands yesterday!!!! Didn’t see this coming. But give credit to Russell Wilson. This young man really showed incredible poise in the biggest game a football player can participate in. A nice talented young man. Watched him play at Wisconsin and he always has represented himself as a humble man who just loves to play the [...]
First of all, the editor (me), loves the game of football. Let’s make that perfectly clear upfront. Played it, watched it, studied it. We all get it that it is a violent game, but no one who has played the game wouldn’t have taken the opportunity to play it professionally if they were given the chance. Especially given the financial rewards offered the elite group of players good enough to make it to the [...]
This guy just simply will not leave this one on the table (Lombardi Trophy). He deserves it. Never thought he would make it back, and to excel at a level even better then before is just astonishing. He will teach Mr. Sherman and the “LoB” what it takes to win a Super Bowl. An amazing year. One of the all-time greats. If not THE best. I know someone who would [...]
What does a coach for a team owned by Woody Johnson have to do to get fired? Not only have the Jets under performed for the 2nd season in a row, but the coach also sacrificed the starting QB in a pre-season game that may have ended his career. This team has turned into a laughing stock, meanwhile Rex is laughing all the way to the bank. All the joking [...]
