As the world pays tribute today in South Africa for Nelson Mandela, it requires a moment of reflection on just what kind of man he was. The sacrifices he made. And the changes he single-handedly brought about. Not only a change in a country, but changes that have been spread worldwide. 27 years in a hard labor camp and he never waivered from the cause he was chasing.  And then [...]

Not really a heck of a lot to say about the 2013 season. It just simply wasn’t the year for the Giants. Nothing seemed to have clicked from the start. Eli hasn’t been Eli all year and that certainly spelled trouble for the offense, which has never really gotten on track. The defense did the best they could with what they had, but that wasn’t enough to stop anyone. Final [...]

Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard’s second book together, Killing Kennedy, is an outstanding read on a subject that has fascinated generations. It’s a little different than their first book, Killing Lincoln, in that it focuses more on who may have had a motive for wanting the President dead. It is not biased one way or the other, and there are legitimate theories as to why someone or some group would want [...]

What is the Price of Safety in the NFL? Brandon Meriweather is now the most feared hitter in football. Opposing pass-catchers are terrified to go up for a ball with him lurking in the area. If he sees the ball in the air, instead of trying for an interception, he only has a knockout hit on his mind. Meriweather has paid dearly for his aggressiveness on the field starting in [...]

November 22, 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of the most horrific event to happen to a nation, as President #35 was taken down by a lone, communist-sympathizing drifter for no  reason other than he wanted to be famous. To this day the vast majority of Americans refuse to believe that someone so insignificant could change the course of history. But yet it happened. For all the similarities between the Lincoln and [...]

The Giants Put Their 2013 Season to Rest The Giants fell to the Chicago Bears 27-21 on Thursday night, falling to 0-6 on the season. This loss effectively ended any slim chance they had to make the playoffs this season. Eli Manning has a league-high 15 picks this season, but how many were his fault depends on who you ask. This performance to start the season has proven that elite [...]

What can you say about this guy?  He was simply the best at what he did for many years. And he did it with class the whole way. Not only will Yankee fans miss this future Hall of Famer, but baseball will miss him more. There are not enough players like Mariano in the game. Without question, one of baseball’s all-time greats.

Giants-Broncos recap The Giants were trounced in their home-opener against Denver 41-23. The big brother showed the little brother how to carve up a defense, and little brother showed big brother how to be careless with the football. The Giants running game was non-existant, and I mean that in a literal sense. They averaged 1.2 yards a carry which is worse than pathetic, its downright laughable. David Wilson had about [...]

This certainly has to go under the tab of “entertainment” as it was one of the funniest shows on television the past few months. In particular Anthony Weiner attempting a political comeback after embarrassing himself online with his shirtless selfies. The gall of him to try and run for one of the most high profile politcal jobs in the country after his ridiculous escapades. You have to tip your hat [...]

Ray Donovan is one of the great new shows on TV.  It is worth watching, as there is a great cast with Jon Voight making a strong comeback as the patriarch of the Donovan clan. Liev Schreiber is terrific in the role as Ray, basically a guy who “fixes things”, in a mostly violent fashion. But a great storyline.  Tune in.
