Sid the Kid has lead the Canadian Olympic team to a second consecutive gold medal. A disappointment for the Americans, but simply put the Canadians were a better team. They needed a leader like Crosby to get them to the top. Give this young man credit as he has proven he comes up big. Especially after sustaining a severe concussion. He has nothing left to prove. Congrats Sidney!!!!!
Wow, this was a surprise for all football fans, as there was a beat-down in the Meadowlands yesterday!!!! Didn’t see this coming. But give credit to Russell Wilson. This young man really showed incredible poise in the biggest game a football player can participate in. A nice talented young man. Watched him play at Wisconsin and he always has represented himself as a humble man who just loves to play the [...]
This guy just simply will not leave this one on the table (Lombardi Trophy). He deserves it. Never thought he would make it back, and to excel at a level even better then before is just astonishing. He will teach Mr. Sherman and the “LoB” what it takes to win a Super Bowl. An amazing year. One of the all-time greats. If not THE best. I know someone who would [...]
What does a coach for a team owned by Woody Johnson have to do to get fired? Not only have the Jets under performed for the 2nd season in a row, but the coach also sacrificed the starting QB in a pre-season game that may have ended his career. This team has turned into a laughing stock, meanwhile Rex is laughing all the way to the bank. All the joking [...]
Not really a heck of a lot to say about the 2013 season. It just simply wasn’t the year for the Giants. Nothing seemed to have clicked from the start. Eli hasn’t been Eli all year and that certainly spelled trouble for the offense, which has never really gotten on track. The defense did the best they could with what they had, but that wasn’t enough to stop anyone. Final [...]
What can you say about this guy? He was simply the best at what he did for many years. And he did it with class the whole way. Not only will Yankee fans miss this future Hall of Famer, but baseball will miss him more. There are not enough players like Mariano in the game. Without question, one of baseball’s all-time greats.
Serena Williams won her 5th U.S. Open Grand Slam event today at Flushing Meadows. But not without a battle (almost 3 hours) by a gutsy and determined Victoria Azarenka. Serena won the trophy which she deserves, but Azarenka won respect as well. Hopefully the men’s championship is as good. It will be. But this will be hard to top. Well done ladies!
Well, we have seen some sleazy coaches in the NFL, but we now have a new #1. “Coach”…….hard to use that phrase for Rex……Ryan has been trying his best to get the axe. But unfortunately for him, the owner of the Jets has no clue about running a football team and will keep him on to finish the complete demolition of the New York Jets franchise. Rex putting Mark Sanchez in [...]
There are some pretty good athletes from the northern New Jersey area that are worth keeping an eye on as they look to make an impact on their respective programs. Particular ones to watch are: Andrew Monaghan: Former standout at Wayne Hills HS and current wide receiver at Wesley College in Delaware Mary Wiley: All-County softball player at Old Tappan HS and heading to George Washington U Chris Pantale: Former Wayne Valley/Boston College [...]
Congratulations to my nephew Brendan as he is the new assistant coach/pitching coach for the UMass-Lowell Riverhawks. He is currently managing the Sag Harbor Whalers in the Hampton League. He lives and dies for baseball, so let’s keep an eye on him as Girardi can’t manage the Yankees forever! Stellar career at St. John’s and the minors. And was a helluva QB in HS as well. This has the makings of [...]
